Last night we drove to Santa Barbara to see Duran Duran in concert. Duran Duran? Get your chuckles out now!
The last time all five were in concert together? 1985.
When you think of Duran Duran — you remember The Reflex, Hungry Like the Wolf, maybe Rio or Union of the Snake. What I had forgotten was all the other songs I’d remembered. For all of us thirtysomethings at the concert with houses, and SUVs, and other you adult acoutrement — it was like being transported back twenty years to junior high school.
Among the conservative (I have a job) haircuts, the increased girth, the cell phones — when the familiar songs played like Save a Prayer — you could see the feathered hair, pinstriped jeans, and Swatch watches of our youth.
If there ever was a time machine, music is it.

Duran Duran? My feelings then and now about such groups are pretty well summed up in the article below. You gave it away when you swatched.
