There ought to be a job entitled, “Enthusiastic Project Starter.”
There is never as much enthusiams as when I start a new project.
Whether it’s knitting a sweater or organizing a drawer, I get all my tools ready. I emplty drawers on the floor. Then — oh, I don’t know, ten minutes in, or ten hours in (depending on the project) my enthusiasm starts to wane.
I start wandering around the house. Sometimes sweeping pet hair into piles. Trolling the fridge contents. Flipping through the few broadcast television channels I get — welcoming any distraction.
Often the project ends up unfinished — kniiting needles and yarn become attractions for the cats. The stuff from my drawers — now on the floor — starts collecting dust.
I’d love to know how to keep that project starting enthusiasm — running all the way through the project. Too see something finished would be fun and maybe even rewarding.
I’d love to say more on the topic . . . but I think the dogs need a walk.
