Today is my seventh wedding anniversary. Can you imagine being married that long? Whew! Anyway, for the first time ever, we watched the videotape of our wedding. Let’s not even discuss the mid nineties style.

The weirdest part? The number of people who died and who are divorced. An uncle, and aunt, a grandmother. Their deaths were not unexpected. The divorces — I guess they’re not expected, but they happened too. It’s weird that all of these people couldn’t be brought together again.

Now about that wedding. First, I don’t remember it being videotaped — now I know how easily those cameras dissapear in reality shows. Second, it’s true what they say — spend money on a photographer. Now, admittedly, I’m cheap and if I had to do it over again, I’d go to Vegas. But, I say, we don’t really have any good pictures. If I had to do that part over again, I get a photographer. I’ve seen some really nice engagement and wedding photos at friends’ houses and they are good.

We’re also going through the rest of our videotapes today. Mario Cuomo’s keynote address at the ‘92 debates. Healthcare, education, corporate greed, it all sounds familiar. Pat Moynihan, Ron Brown, Paul Tsongas. All deceased. They won’t be at the 2004 convention, that’s for sure.

The wedding video we’ll probably keep. The convention — open to debate. The rest — will probably have to go.
