I hate weddings. Not all weddings or even the concept of marriage. Rather, I have come to hate the ostentatious, overproduced spectacle that has become the American wedding. Right now, as I type this, there’s an overwrought, overly ornate and definitely overdue, invitation waiting for action on my desk.

Your article on the over indulgence of weddings was SPOT ON! I don’t understand why middle-class, respectable, and smart folks engage in these crazy traditions that they can’t really afford without compromising their finances. I am on a cultural crusade to stop this insanity. I am going to lose, of course, but articles like yours give me hope.
